Krampus Protein Ice Cream

Krampus Protein Ice Cream

Soooooo last Christmas I watched Krampus for the first time, and I can’t remember what I was gonna say next tbh, but I liked it!! I wasn’t expecting the storyline? I thought it was going to be like a beginning-of-times Christmas like… what’s the movie where they push everyone in the hole? Something having to do with Sparta, I think?

Actually, that has nothing to do with anything. The point I’m trying to make is that I thought it was gonna be an olden-day setting. Like when they flashed back to the grandma having her Krampus experience… I thought the whole movie was going to be like that, but I appreciated the fact that it was in modern times and that they incorporated cute little effects like the flaming gingerbread men!!!!

Those wittle guys were so cute omg. So when I made this ice cream I was like: I have no choice but to make them the star. And also, if I would’ve attempted making actual Krampus the star, the ice cream would’ve come out ugly and you wouldn’t be here right now reading me talk about I don’t even know what. Do you even know what? Or are you just here for the vibes? Bc me too!

OKAY, anyway..

Ummmmm, the ice cream… high protein blah blah. The flavor is like a chocolate gingerbread cookie ooouuuuu ahhhhhh. And um, what else about it? The cute marshmallow gingerbread men I used are from Walmart, and I think they are perfect for this!! Also would be perfect if I was making a Shrek ice cream and wanted to incorporate Gingy!! So perhaps a multiuse purchase.

Could also make festive s’mores with them, or put them in your hot chocolate, or eat them peep style if that’s what you’re into. Bottom line: worth the investment even though I’m not sure why I felt the need to prove this to you. I’m supposed to be talking about Krampus.

OMG I almost forgot!! While I was making this recipe, I was watching Christmas movies on Peacock, and you know how when whatever you’re watching on there ends, it just plays the next thing automatically? WELL, while I was making this ice cream I was obv in the kitchen and couldn’t see the TV, but I heard the next movie come on and I was like: I know that’s not what I think it is…

And lo and behold — KRAMPUS playing on the TV unprovoked as I prepared ice cream in its honor. I was like woowwwwww, it was meant to be, ily 🥹.

How to Make Krampus Protein Ice Cream (Ninja Creami Style)

1. Blend the Base

Add all ice cream base ingredients to a blender:

Milk, chocolate protein powder, pudding mix, maple syrup, brown sugar substitute, vanilla extract, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, clove, and salt.

Blend until smooth and fully combined.

2. Freeze the Pint

Pour the blended mixture into a Ninja Creami pint.

Freeze on a level surface for 24 hours.

3. First Spin

Remove the pint from the freezer and run it under hot water for 1–2 minutes on all sides.

Insert into the Creami and spin on Light Ice Cream mode.

4. Re-Spin

Re-spin the ice cream 1–2 more times until smooth and creamy.

5. Add the Mix-Ins

Use a spoon to create a well in the center of the ice cream (if the machine hasn’t already created one).

Add 4 Oreo cookie pieces (this is really 2 Oreos with the cream scraped out — 4 halves).

Spin on Mix-In mode.

6. Finish the Toppings

Crush the remaining 2 Oreo cookie pieces over the top.

Add 3 gingerbread men as the final decoration.

Optional but absolutely dramatic:

Stick one candle between each gingerbread man for the full Krampus fantasy.

7. Enjoy

Take a picture. Honor the chaos. Eat it.

Tips & Tricks

  • The spice levels are your playground. Want more ginger? Add more. Want it less intense? Reduce the clove.
  • Brown sugar substitute is key. It gives the pint that molasses-gingerbread flavor that makes this recipe hit.
  • The pudding mix is not optional. It’s what makes the texture thick, smooth, and creamy.
  • Scraping the creme out of the Oreos matters. The creme tends to melt weird in the Creami and adds unnecessary extra calories, but the cookie pieces mix perfectly.
  • If the pint powders after the first spin, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk. Then re-spin — it will fix everything.

Customization Ideas

  • Make it hotter. Add a pinch of cayenne for a spicy “devil’s cocoa” vibe.
  • Make it more chocolatey. Add 1 tbsp cocoa powder to the blender mix.
  • Make it sweeter. Increase the maple syrup or brown sugar.
  • Make it darker. Add black cocoa powder for actual coal-colored ice cream.
  • Make it more Krampus-y. Use crushed gingerbread cookies IN the mix-ins, not just on top.

FAQ

Can I use a different milk?

2% milk gives the best balance of creaminess and macros, but you can use skim, whole, or a high-protein milk. Just note that the texture may change slightly.

Do I need the pudding mix?

Yes. It’s what thickens the ice cream, improves texture, and prevents iciness. If you skip it, the pint may not creamify properly so make sure to use an alternative thickener!

Can I use regular Oreos?

Yes — I only scrape out the creme because it blends cleaner and cuts out a lot of calories. But if you like the creme, keep it in!

Can I make this without the Ninja Creami?

Yes, but the texture will be closer to a frozen dessert or soft serve. The Creami gives you that signature ice-cream-shop texture.

Do I have to add the candles?

No — but if you don’t, Krampus may or may not appear at the foot of your bed. (Just kidding… kind of.)

Can I skip the spices?

You can, but then it’s not Krampus-coded anymore. The spices are what make this recipe what it is.

Final Thoughts

This Krampus Protein Ice Cream is the perfect mix of festive, dramatic, cozy, chocolatey, and absolutely unhinged in the best holiday-season way. The warm gingerbread spices meet deep chocolate flavor, the Oreo “coal” brings crunch, and the gingerbread men add the perfect finishing touch.

It’s fun. It’s delicious. It’s weird. It’s winter magic with a little bit of chaos.

And truly — Krampus would approve.
